Goals are a great motivator by giving us something to work towards. They also provide satisfaction and accomplishment through achievement of said goals. They help to keep us focused and on track. Broad goals aren’t as effective as more specific ones. For example, if your goal is to ‘be healthy’ that is very hard to track or define ‘healthy’. Here are some of my tips on setting and achieving your goals (focusing on health/fitness):
Achievable/Specific: It is important to create specific goals that can be measured. Create a timeline to achieve these goals. You may have to do a little research here. You want to challenge yourself, but still be realistic. If you can’t run 5 km, don’t try to run a marathon in a months time. Anyone that has been reading my blog can tell I just might be in love with the benefits of eating and drinking green. In the world of bodybuilding their is a term called ” Stacking”. It means to use more than one supplement to achieve a certain goal in the body. Some athletes will stack 2, 3, or 4 supplements to reach their goals.
I wonder what would a green head like myself stack? I am not going to stale in getting to my point. If you want to feel like you have just had an energy drink like Redbull, or if you want to enhance every effect of eating green, you will have to stack. Please excuse the plethora of “greek” recipes. Pretty much, it’s an excuse for me to use the near gallon of feta I bought at the grocery store. Also, of course…. I’m somewhere in Santorini right now, eating feta from the source – Greece!
Not only is this pasta salad light and fresh for the summer, it’s so low calorie and scrumptious, you won’t ever make regular pasta salad again. The crunchiness of the cucumber “spirals” complement the softness of the feta, while the red wine vinegar gives it the kick it needs. The sunflower seeds at the end (not so Greek) are a nice salty surprise.

It’s definitely much easier during a busy work week to stay on schedule, exercise, and eat healthy; then when the weekend comes to let it all go. But, don’t let one weekend ruin your goals and your whole week of great habits! Be aware of where you will be tempted to indulge, and plan around it.
